Limassol, Cyprus. DP World Limassol has donated €1,000 to support the Cyprus University of Technology’s (Tepak) Excellence Awards, reinforcing a partnership focused on developing future logistics professionals.
The operator of Limassol port’s general cargo and cruise terminal said the contribution forms part of its sustainability strategy, which focuses on education, young people and the professional advancement of women.
Partnership with Tepak
DP World Limassol said its collaboration with Tepak began in 2023 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding covering joint research programmes, staff exchanges and small-scale projects.
The company offers internship opportunities to Tepak students and supports research initiatives intended to strengthen links between academia and industry.
Education and industry
The initiatives are designed to provide students with practical experience and encourage closer cooperation between higher education and the logistics sector, the company said.
“Investing in education is also an investment in the future of our industry and our society,” said DP World Cyprus chief executive Simon Pitout.
“Through our partnership with Tepak, we are helping to train talented students by providing them with the skills and experience they need to develop professionally,” Pitout added.
