Paphos, Cyprus. Police arrested a 37-year-old driver on Thursday after he ran over a 24-year-old man on the Paphos-Limassol highway. The victim, part of a roadworks crew, was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Crash and injuries
Police said the driver hit the 24-year-old while he was working as part of a roadworks crew on the highway. The vehicle then crashed into a traffic sign before coming to a standstill.
Police action
The driver tested positive for narcotics, police said, and was arrested.
