Nicosia, Cyprus. The Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) said on Tuesday that mass smart meter installations will continue across the island throughout August. Electricity supply will be interrupted for up to 20 minutes during each meter replacement for safety reasons.
Installation areas
In Nicosia, smart meters will be installed in Strovolos and in the area between Athalassa, Limassol, John Kennedy, Dimostheni Severi and Strovolos avenues.
In Limassol, installations will cover the municipalities of Limassol and Mesa Geitonia, as well as the area between Makarios III, Grigoris Afxentiou, Omirou, Griva Digeni and Georgios Neophytou streets and Spyros Kyprianou avenue.
Work will also take place in the area between Makarios Street, Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, Ayios Athanasios Avenue and the Nicosia-Limassol motorway.
Other districts
In Larnaca, installations will be carried out in Larnaca municipality and the area between Artemis Avenue, Faneromeni Avenue and Piale Passia Road, extending to Mackenzie beach.
In Famagusta, the work will cover Paralimni municipality, both sides of Akropolis and Ayios Dimitrios avenues, both sides of Griva Digeni Avenue, and the Konnos area.
In Paphos, smart meters will be installed in Yeroskipou municipality and in the area south of the Limassol-Paphos motorway to Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, from the roundabout at the city entrance to the Ayia Marinouda area.
