Ellinas finishes fifth at Estoril in Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe

Estoril, Portugal. Cypriot driver Tio Ellinas returned to the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe at Estoril on Thursday, competing in the sport division during rounds three and four. He finished fifth in race one after earlier podium results at the season opener in Portimao.

Round three at Estoril

The Portuguese circuit hosted a full programme of qualifying and races across the day. Race one featured close battles throughout the field, with Milan Marczak taking overall victory ahead of Wouter Boerekamps and Hjelte Hoffner, while Jesse Polderdijk won the rookie class.

Ellinas ran consistently inside the leading group and crossed the line in fifth place, adding points to his early-season tally.

Form following Portimao

Ellinas’ Estoril result followed third and fourth place finishes at Portimao, where difficult weather conditions shaped the opening round.

Qualifying and other category results

Qualifying again highlighted the pace at the front, with Marczak and Polderdijk taking pole positions in the sport and rookie categories. Joel Monegro continued his form in the club division, taking a third consecutive win later in the programme.

Schedule and next rounds

Ellinas did not take part in the final race of the day, with his Estoril appearance focused on round three as the team managed its schedule ahead of upcoming commitments. The Estoril weekend is part of a busy start to the year for the Cypriot driver, who is balancing multiple Porsche programmes across Europe.

Attention now turns to the next rounds of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Southern Europe, where Ellinas is expected to return to the grid as the series continues its winter calendar.

What will be the key factor for Ellinas as he balances multiple Porsche programmes across Europe?
