Nicosia, Cyprus. ERB Asfalistiki on Tuesday announced the continuation for an 11th consecutive year of its partnership with the Ministry of Defence and the National Guard, focused on road safety and the protection of conscripts. The company said the initiative supports prevention efforts aimed at improving the safety of National Guard soldiers.
Partnership and road safety focus
ERB Asfalistiki, a member of the Eurobank group and described by the company as Cyprus’ largest general insurance provider, said it remains committed to social responsibility and prevention initiatives.
The initiative is based on the philosophy of “Observe-Anticipate-Act”, with the company aiming to encourage responsible behaviour on the road.
Event and recognition for soldiers
Under the slogan “Let’s not let our dreams fall apart!”, a special event was held on June 19, 2026, at the headquarters of the ERB Cyprus Group.
During the event, ERB Asfalistiki and the Ministry of Defence honoured 10 National Guardsmen who made extensive use of the Free Bus Travel Plan.
Each soldier received an honorary plaque and a tablet in recognition of their commitment to using public transport.
Encouraging wider participation
According to the company, the initiative is intended to encourage wider participation in the scheme and help reduce the risks associated with the daily travel of conscripts.
Officials highlight importance of safety
Addressing the event, Defence Minister Vasilis Palmas, chief executive of ERB Cyprus Insurance Holdings Group Takis Phidia, and general manager of ERB Asfalistiki Andreas C. Stylianou underlined the importance of road safety.
ERB Asfalistiki said it would continue implementing initiatives that promote prevention and safety, describing itself as a “Force of Safety” that stands alongside society.
