EU will finance the development of Limassol

The EU has allocated 5,6 million Euros to stimulate the local economics in Limassol. As part of the “Leader” framework, the EU plans to improve the tourist attractiveness of the port city a a community level.

The director of the company Mr. Rakis Pierides said that all moneys will be spent for the development of the communities, which have agriculture and fishing as main source of income.

More than 3 million Euros will be used to finance the construction of the youth centers and development of agrotourism. Additionally, owners of cafeterias, restaurants and shops will be able to file the application to receive 50% funding for the renovation of their premises.

The remaining amount of 2,3 million Euros will be spent for opening of fish taverns and for fishermen courses.
