Brussels, Belgium. Euro area annual inflation is expected to reach 1.9% in February 2026, up from 1.7% in January, according to a flash estimate by Eurostat. Cyprus recorded an annual inflation rate of 0.9%, the lowest among listed member states.
Euro area inflation breakdown
Eurostat said services are expected to register the highest annual rate in February at 3.4%, compared with 3.2% in January. Food, alcohol and tobacco are forecast to record an annual increase of 2.6%, unchanged from January.
Non-energy industrial goods are projected to rise by 0.7%, up from 0.4% the previous month. Energy prices are expected to remain negative at minus 3.2%, compared with minus 4.0% in January.
Cyprus and other low-inflation member states
Cyprus’ annual inflation rate of 0.9% in February 2026 reflects a relatively flat price trajectory since late 2025 and was the lowest of all member states listed in Eurostat’s harmonised index of consumer prices table for February 2026.
Among other member states with low inflation, France recorded an annual rate of 1.1%, while Belgium stood at 1.4%.
