Eurobank reaffirmed its strategic commitment to the shipping sector by participating as a platinum sponsor at the 2026 keynote annual event of the Propeller Club of the United States – Port of Limassol. The event was held in Limassol on March 20 and brought together key stakeholders from the maritime industry.

Keynote address on adaptability and technology
The keynote speaker was Amin Toufani, described as an internationally recognised expert on organisational adaptability, with work focused on artificial intelligence, exponential technologies and innovation strategy. His presence in Cyprus was described as a rare opportunity for the local market to engage directly with a globally recognised thought leader.
Toufani’s address emphasised the importance of adaptability for organisations operating amid rapid technological change, geopolitical challenges and the energy transition. He also provided insights intended to support strategic decision-making in an increasingly complex global landscape.
Eurobank comments and banking developments
Eurobank senior general manager Stephanos Kassianides said the bank’s support for the shipping industry remained consistent and described the sector as a key pillar of the Cypriot economy. He said the shipping sector remains a cornerstone of the Cypriot economy and that Cyprus holds a crucial position on the global maritime map.
Kassianides also referred to Eurobank’s evolving presence in Cyprus, citing the creation of Eurobank Limited through the acquisition and merger of Hellenic Bank with Eurobank Cyprus. The move was described as the largest investment in the country’s banking sector, resulting in the establishment of the largest banking and insurance organisation in Cyprus.
