Nicosia, Cyprus. Eurobank said it was named Cyprus’ best bank for 2026 by Euromoney and received the publication’s award for best bank for large corporates at its latest Awards for Excellence.
The awards recognise the bank’s performance and strategic initiatives during 2025, including the completion of the legal merger between Hellenic Bank and Eurobank Cyprus.
Merger and business growth
The Euromoney evaluation covered the period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
Eurobank said the merger resulted in the creation of Eurobank Limited, which it described as Cyprus’ largest banking and insurance organisation, with total assets exceeding €28 billion.
The bank said its business lending portfolio grew by about 17 per cent during 2025. It also reported that its customer base expanded to more than 710,000 retail customers and 11,500 business customers in Cyprus.
Digital and international expansion
Eurobank said more than 96 per cent of its transactions are conducted through digital channels, while most financing applications are submitted through its mobile application.
The bank also cited the opening of Eurobank’s first representative office in India, saying the move strengthens business links between Cyprus and India and reinforces Cyprus’ role as a gateway to the European Union for Indian businesses and investors.
Euromoney recognition
According to Eurobank, Euromoney recognised the completion of the merger between Hellenic Bank and Eurobank Cyprus, as well as the bank’s business growth, digital transformation and contribution to Cyprus’ international investment and business profile.
