According to the land department, the number of foreign real estate buyers in August grew by 34%. At the same time, most often transactions are dictated by the desire to obtain a Cypriot passport or residence permit, depending on the amount of investment.
The same opinion is confirmed by The Guardian. The Sunday publication of the publication says that Cyprus has provided investors with more than 400 passports, under the scheme of obtaining citizenship abroad. Thus, from 2013 the island’s budget received € 4 billion. Also, the British publication noted that the list of people who received the EU passports on this scheme, appear Russian oligarchs and corrupt officials from Ukraine.
