Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested four people during overnight crime-prevention operations across the island, authorities said on Thursday. The arrests were linked to alleged drug possession and traffic violations.
Checks and inspections
Officers stopped 570 vehicles and checked 760 people during the operations. They also inspected 49 premises, issuing seven citations for various minor offences.
Traffic offences
Police investigated 13 traffic-related cases and impounded 14 vehicles. A total of 351 traffic offences were recorded, including 75 speeding violations.
Two drivers were cited for drink-driving, while three people tested positive in preliminary drug tests.
