Paphos, Cyprus. Two Greek F-16 fighter jets took off from Andreas Papandreou airbase in Paphos on Wednesday shortly before noon. The activity was made known on Thursday.
Planned training and readiness
The jets, currently deployed to the airbase, lifted off as part of continuous personnel training and operational readiness.

Sources said the take-off was planned and there was no cause for concern, as there was neither an alarm nor a threat detected.

The F-16s are in Cyprus as part of regular manoeuvres aimed at maintaining a high level of readiness among crews and forces operating from the airbase.
