Nicosia, Cyprus. Green Steps, a spring and summer programme, is inviting children and their families to take part in dance and ecological empathy activities aimed at strengthening their relationship with the environment through dance.
Programme focus and participants
Green Steps begins in March and is open to children aged 5 to 11, families, educators and environmentalists. It aims to encourage participants to explore connections between dance and nature and to raise children’s awareness of environmental issues through an artistic format.
March 14 performative roundtable in Nicosia
The first activity is a performative roundtable on March 14 at 10am at the Nicosia Dance House. Using a non-hierarchical discussion format, participants will take part in a structured conversation about needs, concerns, creative educational methods and proposals related to ecology and dance. The session will be facilitated by Petros Konnaris and is open to artists, choreographers, educators, environmentalists, children, teenagers and parents.
March workshop at Athalassa Park
A workshop will take place the following day at Athalassa Park, focusing on cleanliness and environmental care. Children and their families will learn about the interconnection of the ecosystem through a guided educational walk, a treasure hunt and a creative movement game.
April and June activities
