Hartsiotis visits Kormakitis and Karpasha to hear residents’ concerns

Nicosia, Cyprus. Commissioner of the presidency Marios Hartsiotis visited the Kyrenia district Maronite villages of Kormakitis and Karpasha to hear residents’ concerns. The presidential palace said the visit aimed to record and discuss residents’ needs and problems.


Purpose of the visit

The presidential palace said Hartsiotis’ visit was intended to “record and discuss … residents’ needs and problems regarding the issues which concerned them”.

Discussions with residents

The palace said Hartsiotis held “a fruitful and productive dialogue” with villagers and would forward issues raised to “the relevant ministries and services” for resolution.

Participants and next steps

Hartsiotis was joined by Maronite non-voting representative in parliament Yiannakis Moussas, a representative from the social welfare deputy ministry, and Kyrenia district officer-in-exile Antonis Economides. He promised to visit the villages again “very soon”.
