Yeri, Cyprus. Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides visited the blood centre in Yeri on Tuesday, citing ongoing concerns about the adequacy of blood supplies. He said shortages occur from time to time and described the situation as a serious concern requiring immediate action.
Calls for proposals to strengthen reserves
Charalambides said he has asked the Blood Bank to submit suggestions to strengthen blood reserves. He added that he will soon meet the Pancyprian Thalassaemia Association.
Thanks to volunteer donors
The minister thanked volunteer blood donors for their consistent and selfless contribution, saying they “truly give life.”
