Nicosia, Cyprus. Home for Cooperation will host an English-language guided walk in Nicosia on April 25, focusing on stories and communities beyond the city’s fortifications. The two-hour walk will cross checkpoints and explore connections across and beyond the walled city.
Walk details and route
The walk, titled “Beyond the Walls: Connections Across and Beyond the Walled City of Nicosia,” will start at 10am from Home for Cooperation and run until 12pm. It will be facilitated by Mehmetcan Soyluoglu and will cross the city’s checkpoints to connect narratives and landscapes in a divided city.
Organisers’ focus
Organisers said the walk reflects on how the historic city was shaped through routes, memories and relationships extending across the island. They said it considers how some connections became central to public narratives while others remained quieter traces within the urban fabric.
Registration and participation
Participation is limited, and organisers advised interested participants to sign up soon, citing past events that were fully booked. Registrations are open through an online link on the Home for Cooperation website.
Language and cost
The walk will be conducted in English and costs €7. The meeting point is Home for Cooperation in Nicosia.
