Budapest, Hungary. Hungary’s Paks nuclear power plant reduced output on one of its four reactors by 243 MW because of high water temperature in the Danube River during a record heatwave, operator MVM said on Saturday.
Output reduction at Paks
MVM said the output cut affected one of the plant’s four reactors.
Cooling water threshold exceeded
A measurement taken in the morning showed the cooling water temperature downstream from the plant at 29.7 degrees Celsius, above the 29.5 C intervention threshold, according to a statement published on MVM’s website.
