Lakatamia, Cyprus. The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) said its corporate social responsibility committee carried out a tree planting initiative at Lakatamia’s linear park. The initiative was held in collaboration with the municipality of Lakatamia and with the support of VerboErgo.
Tree planting initiative
ICPAC said the initiative forms part of Selk’s broader sustainability actions, aimed at enhancing urban greenery and promoting environmental awareness among the public.
The organisation said a total of 47 saplings were planted, contributing directly to the improvement of the area’s natural environment.
Focus on urban green infrastructure
ICPAC said the action was designed to strengthen green infrastructure within the urban landscape and to encourage greater engagement with environmental issues at the local level.
Officials’ remarks
“This initiative highlights the importance of cooperation for the protection of the environment and the creation of higher-quality spaces for citizens,” said Photoula Hadjipapa, mayor of Lakatamia.
“The active participation of the public confirms the strength of collective actions and the importance of environmental responsibility,” said ICPAC communications officer Constantina Achilleos.
