International Pharos Chamber Music Festival marks 25 years in Cyprus

Nicosia, Cyprus. The International Pharos Chamber Music Festival is celebrating its 25th anniversary this summer, with performances running until Saturday at two venues in Cyprus. The event brings together internationally known classical musicians for chamber music concerts.

Anniversary edition

The festival is held annually at the Royal Manor House in Kouklia and concludes with an orchestral gala at The Olive Grove in Delikipos. This year’s edition highlights the festival’s history and its artistic direction.

Hellen Costaki of the Pharos Arts Foundation said the 25th anniversary was “a deeply emotional and important milestone” for the organisation. She said the festival had grown into a cultural institution that connects Cyprus with the international music world.

Festival profile

Over the past 25 years, the festival has developed from a cultural initiative into one of Europe’s chamber music events. It has featured soloists, ensembles and audiences from around the world.

The festival is known for its programming, which combines chamber music works with lesser-known pieces. Its concerts are designed to present music from the baroque period to contemporary compositions.

Cultural role

The festival also includes educational outreach and support for young musicians. According to Costaki, it was founded on the belief that music can inspire, educate and unite people.

She said Cyprus has become a destination for artists and music lovers from around the world. The festival’s focus on excellence and accessibility has helped strengthen its international profile.

2026 lineup

The 2026 festival features internationally renowned musicians, many of whom are performing in Cyprus for the first time.
