Tehran, Iran. Iranian officials said their country’s enemies misjudged its capabilities and determination to defend its sovereignty, as they repeated that Tehran will not back down from what it calls its red lines.
IRGC official says Iran emerged stronger
Yadollah Javani, the deputy head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said Iran’s adversaries made a strategic mistake in assessing the country’s capabilities. Speaking to IRNA, he said they believed they could achieve a swift victory in a war against Iran and aimed to dismantle its nuclear capabilities, neutralize its missile defense systems and ultimately overthrow the Islamic Republic.
Javani said those objectives failed and that regional dynamics had shifted in Tehran’s favor. He added that Iran now holds a dominant position in the Strait of Hormuz and said this had become a legitimate right of the Iranian people after 500 years.
He said Iran is in a “victorious and superior position” and has already presented its conditions for ending the current crisis. “Now it is America’s turn to make a decision,” he said.
Addressing U.S. President Donald Trump, Javani said Washington faces two options: “the bad path” and “the worse path.” He said the United States must choose between accepting the terms and rights of the Iranian people or continuing the war.
Javani also warned against another miscalculation, saying the Iranian Armed Forces remain fully prepared and that any further error would draw a response that would be “stronger, more decisive, and more unbelievable” than before.
Parliament committee chief cites red lines
Ebrahim Rezaei, head of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said Iran prefers diplomacy but has non-negotiable red lines.
Rezaei said the United States must make concessions to reach an agreement, arguing that Washington is bargaining from a weak position.
He said the naval blockade against Iran will be ended, and that this will happen either through diplomatic negotiations or direct military action.
