Iran says it will not surrender uranium enrichment despite US pressure

Tehran, Iran. Iran will not surrender its uranium enrichment even if faced with war, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, describing enrichment as the central dispute with the United States. His remarks came two days after talks between Tehran and Washington.


Araghchi defends enrichment policy

Speaking at a forum in Tehran, Araghchi said Iran has paid a heavy price for its nuclear program and that no one has the right to dictate Iran’s actions regarding enrichment.

Talks with US envoy in Oman

Araghchi held talks in Oman on Friday with US envoy Steve Witkoff.

Response to US military presence in the Gulf

Araghchi dismissed American military deployment in the Gulf and said it does not intimidate Tehran, following a visit by Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy to the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in the region.

Position on diplomacy and conflict

Araghchi said Iran is a nation of diplomacy and war, but does not seek conflict.
