Nicosia, Cyprus. Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos on Tuesday held separate telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Greece and Kuwait, focusing on regional developments, the Cyprus problem and cooperation.
Call with Greece
According to the foreign ministry, Kombos spoke with Greek foreign minister Giorgios Gerapetritis as part of regular communication and coordination between Nicosia and Athens.
The two ministers exchanged views on current regional issues and the Cyprus problem, reaffirming close alignment on matters of common interest.
Call with Kuwait
Earlier the same day, Kombos held his first telephone conversation with Kuwait’s foreign minister, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, congratulating him on his appointment.
The discussion covered Cyprus–Kuwait bilateral relations, the priorities of the Cypriot EU council presidency, EU–Kuwait relations and ties between the EU and the Gulf cooperation council.
The foreign ministry said the talks also addressed wider regional developments, underlining Cyprus’ interest in strengthening dialogue and cooperation with partners in the Levant and the wider Gulf.
