Larnaca, Cyprus. Larnaca municipality has opened an air-conditioned shelter for residents during periods of extreme heat and high humidity, with elderly and vulnerable people encouraged to use the service.
The facility at Chrysostomio Melathro on Epidavrou Street is open daily from 8am to 3pm.
Cooling centre services
The municipality said the initiative aims to protect the health and safety of residents during hot weather. Visitors to the shelter will be provided with cool drinks and light snacks.
