Limassol, Cyprus. A 39-year-old man was hospitalised with serious injuries after an alleged attack that followed reported threats by his landlord, police said on Saturday.
Incident and reported threats
Police said the incident took place on Thursday evening, after the man’s two housemates, aged 41 and 23, reported that their landlord had visited their home and threatened them.
Shortly afterwards, they said the owner returned with other people whose faces were covered. The housemates reported that they fled the building and were chased, before the 41-year-old and the 39-year-old were caught and attacked.
Injuries and alleged theft
Police said the 39-year-old suffered a fractured skull, a fractured rib, and other serious injuries, and was taken to a private hospital in Limassol.
The 41-year-old and the 23-year-old returned to the house and reported that €3,000 in cash had been stolen.
Arrest and court appearance
Police said investigations led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man on Friday. He is expected to appear in court later on Saturday.
