Limassol, Cyprus. A 42-year-old police officer was arrested on Wednesday in Limassol for allegedly attempting to interfere with judicial proceedings, police said on Thursday. The officer is under investigation for alleged offences committed between May and June 2026.
Allegations under investigation
Police said the allegations include conspiracy to obstruct justice, influencing a witness and making threats.
Part of wider organised crime probe
According to police, the arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation into suspected money laundering and organised crime. Authorities said the case is linked to a broader organised crime probe launched earlier this year.
Earlier arrests and seizures
In May, police arrested a 45-year-old policeman, a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman in Limassol over alleged money laundering and involvement in a criminal organisation. Authorities said property worth hundreds of thousands of euros was seized during those operations.
Court appearance expected
The 42-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the court on Thursday for remand proceedings as the investigation continues.
