Limassol will fight sea pollution

Limassol municipality is dedicated to fight the sea pollution. The mayor of the city held a meeting with the Environment Commissioner, municipality officials and other stakeholder to identify measures to handle marine pollution.

Sewage and toxic waste collecting systems will be installed in Limassol Port within two weeks. The waste material will be then delivered to the sewer collector.

Municipality is also planning to conduct regular inspections of commercial vessel to determine whether the wastewater is treated before dumping it into the sea.

And the last step will be organising the group of observers who will be informing the relevant services about any contamination of the sea.
