Nicosia, Cyprus. A 32-year-old man was arrested during a police operation on Friday after approximately 11 kilograms of cannabis were found in his possession. Police said the drugs are believed to have been intended for distribution.
Police operation and seizure
Police said the operation was launched after information indicated the man had received a parcel from a courier company. Officers stopped him while he was driving his vehicle and carried out a search, during which the cannabis was discovered.
Court appearance and investigation
The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to appear before the Nicosia district court on Saturday. Police said investigations have been launched, with efforts under way to identify possible accomplices and any connections to an organised drug trafficking ring.
