Members of Russian police forces have joined the UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus

The Ambassador of Russian Federation in Russia Mr. Stanislav Osadchii has stated that three women from the Russian police forces will report for duty in the nearest future. Their goal is to contribute to ensuring the safety and order in the buffer zone within the framework of peacekeeping mission on the island.

On the official ceremony of raising of the Russian flag, the manager of the UN peacekeeping troops has declared that Russia became the 12th “donor” of police troops and 35th nation, which participates in ensuring peace in Cyprus. She thanked the government of Russian Federation for the quick decision on the issue of providing police troops.
