Nicosia, Cyprus. A 44-year-old man, identified as Igor Tkachev, died in a traffic accident on the Nicosia-Larnaca highway on Tuesday night, police said on Friday.
Crash on Nicosia-Larnaca highway
Police said the incident occurred at around 1am as Tkachev was travelling toward Larnaca when his motorcycle overturned and hit the railing. He was thrown into the left safety lane, where he was struck by a car.
Emergency response and death
Police and an ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after. Tkachev was taken to Nicosia general hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigation
Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
