Nicosia, Cyprus. Mountains on Stage will bring four films featuring real-life mountain adventures to Pantheon Cinema on May 7. The programme includes Why I Fly, Queen Swing, Patagonian Chimeras and The Cherry on the Cake.

Mountains on Stage presents films featuring ordinary people rather than actors, highlighting personal journeys and expeditions in the mountains.
Patagonian Chimeras
Patagonian Chimeras follows Lise Billon’s adventure with Fanny Schmutz and Maud Vanpoulle as they aim to complete the first all-female ascent of the Southeast Ridge of Cerro Torre in Patagonia. The film also examines questions about the place of women in mountaineering and the ambitions they pursue.
The Cherry on the Cake
The Cherry on the Cake follows a sea journey to Greenland as three Belgians and one Swede spend two weeks sailing through storms and between icebergs to reach the base camp of the Mythic Cirque. The group aims to establish routes on untouched summits while carrying musical instruments.
Why I Fly
Why I Fly is a four-minute short film directed by Jean-Baptiste Chandelier, described as a nod to E.T. and Peter Pan. It portrays his sensations while flying and includes an invitation to listen to an inner voice encouraging people to pursue dreams and live fully.
Queen Swing
Queen Swing centres on speed climbing, following Kate Kelleghan and Laura Pineau as they attempt the Triple Crown of El Capitan, Half Dome and Mount Watkins within 24 hours. The film depicts the demands of climbing three big walls of over 2,000 meters, focusing on risk-taking, determination and teamwork.
