Vavla, Cyprus. The village of Vavla will host the Musical Promenade in Vavla on May 16 for the fourth consecutive year, turning the community into an open-air stage. Visitors will follow a map through the village’s streets to performances in corners, squares and residents’ courtyards.
Festival format and programme
The one-day event will feature 11 acts performing across multiple locations throughout Vavla. The programme will include music drawing on Eastern Mediterranean sounds as well as contemporary songwriting, jazz, soul, classical music and experimental soundscapes.
Artists and performances
The lineup includes Alexa Michael, Christos Fountos, Eleonora Roussou and Odysseas Toumazou, En Phyē, Epea Pteroenta, Jan Van x Fotis Siotas, Mihalis Siammas, Naz Atun, Panayiotis Loizou, DJ Vanesha and Ya Na Ma Na. Performances will include ensembles, duos, solo sets and DJs.
Additional activities and amenities
A market with local products will run throughout the festival, alongside street food stands. Bars will operate serving cocktails, beers and wine.
Time, location and entry
The event will take place in Vavla village in the Larnaca district from 5.30pm to 12am, with free admission. The organisers have listed a Facebook event titled “Musical Promenade in Vavla.”
