Nicosia, Cyprus. A 23-year-old was remanded in police custody on Tuesday after 872.9g of cannabis was found in his possession in Nicosia. The man appeared before Nicosia district court, which remanded him for seven days.
Parcel discovery and attempted collection
Authorities said cannabis was discovered in a parcel at a postal facility in Nicosia during inspections by the customs department and the drug squad. The 23-year-old allegedly attempted to collect the package but refused to provide his personal details when police stopped him at about 11.45am on Monday.
Home search and items seized
Police searched the man’s home and seized €4,670 and electronic devices, including four computers and a mobile phone, for examination.
Investigation
Authorities are investigating drug importation, possession with intent to supply, money laundering and conspiracy to commit a felony.
