Protaras, Cyprus. A 34-year-old man, reportedly the owner of a nightclub, was shot at multiple times early on Saturday morning in Protaras, police said. No injuries were reported.
Shooting on Protaras Avenue
Police said the incident occurred shortly after midnight as the man was driving on Protaras Avenue near Cape Greco, when several gunshots were fired towards him. The perpetrators then entered a vehicle and fled the scene.
Burning car found within British bases
About 30 minutes later, a car that had been left behind was found engulfed in flames on the Ayia Napa-Rizoelia road within the British bases. The car is thought to be connected to the case.
Investigation ongoing
Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
