Overnight police operations across Cyprus lead to nine arrests and multiple traffic violations

Nicosia, Cyprus. Police operations to crack down on crime and maintain public order continued overnight across Cyprus, resulting in nine arrests. Authorities also carried out extensive vehicle and passenger checks, reporting dozens of traffic violations.


Arrests in Nicosia and Limassol

In Nicosia, two people were arrested, one for illegal residence and the other for a pending fine. In Limassol, two people were arrested for domestic violence.

Arrests in Paphos

In Paphos, two people were arrested for assault causing bodily harm. One person was arrested for illegal residence, one for illegal employment, and one for possession of a small quantity of drugs.

Traffic and passenger checks

More than 220 vehicles were pulled over and more than 290 passengers checked. Police reported 92 people for traffic violations, including one for drink driving, and confiscated three vehicles.
