Pancyprian examinations end as results expected by July 24

Nicosia, Cyprus. The Pancyprian examinations concluded on Friday, with results expected to be announced by July 24, according to examinations service head Socrates Mylonas. The results are also expected to include university placements in Cyprus.

Results timetable

Mylonas said the announcement is expected by July 24, while noting some reservations about the timeline. Applications that secure places at universities in Greece are expected to follow a few days later.

End of examination period

The examination period ended on Friday with the common core maths paper, which was taken by just over 2,000 candidates.

Conduct of the exams

Mylonas said the examinations were completed without any major problems. He said the process had gone smoothly overall, with no serious incidents or issues reported.

Cheating allegation

Only one suspected cheating incident was investigated during the examination period. Mylonas said the allegation was not confirmed and the student’s paper was sent for marking. He added that supervisors are required to report any suspicion so it can be examined after the exam.

Concerns over difficulty

Mylonas said some students had raised concerns about the difficulty of certain papers, particularly maths, but there had not been widespread complaints.
