Paphos acting mayor condemns graffiti vandalism after charity event

Paphos, Cyprus. Acting Paphos mayor Angelos Onisiforou on Sunday condemned vandalism in Kato Paphos after a charity event supported by the municipality.

He said public and private properties had been covered in graffiti, causing damage and creating financial costs for citizens.

Call for respect

Onisiforou said images seen by the competent services had caused disappointment and indignation.

He said such behaviour could not be accepted and described it as a lack of respect for the city, its residents and those working to keep Paphos clean.

Restoration costs

The acting mayor said public property belongs to residents, who would bear the cost of restoring the damage.

“Paphos deserves the respect of all of us,” he said.
