Paphos, Cyprus. A 41-year-old man was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday by the Paphos district court over a December 2025 traffic accident that killed a 23-year-old Bulgarian motorcyclist.

The court found the man guilty of reckless behaviour and ruled that the accident was his fault.
Crash location and victim
The collision occurred at the traffic light-controlled junction of Tassos Papadopoulos avenue and Andreas Vlamis street, where the man collided with the motorcyclist, identified as Petko Svetlozar. Svetlozar was taken to Paphos general hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Arrest and test results
The man was arrested immediately after the accident and was later found to be in Cyprus illegally. He tested positive for drugs and negative for alcohol.
