Paphos, Cyprus. Acting mayor Angelos Onisiforou met with the committee representing the municipality’s industrial zone on Tuesday to discuss operational issues, including vehicle removal and infrastructure upgrades.
Operational issues and working conditions
The meeting focused on daily operational matters, with participants emphasising the need to improve working conditions for professionals and craftsmen in the industrial area.
Abandoned vehicles and area appearance
One of the main concerns raised was the presence of old and abandoned vehicles in various locations across the industrial zone, which participants said was negatively affecting the area’s appearance.
Parking and road network improvements
Tradespeople called for additional parking spaces to better serve employees and visitors, along with improvements to the existing road network. They specifically requested road resurfacing to improve road safety and access to local businesses.
Green areas
Participants also highlighted the need to improve and expand green areas in the zone to upgrade the surrounding environment and create a more functional and pleasant workspace.
Municipal response
The committee said Onisiforou and municipal officials showed a positive attitude and willingness to cooperate in addressing the issues raised.
