Paralimni-Deryneia steps up preparations for new tourist season

Paralimni, Cyprus. Paralimni-Deryneia municipality said it is stepping up preparations for the new tourist season, as the east coast destination prepares to welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors expected to holiday in the area this year.


Upgrades and preparations

The municipality said beaches, hotels and leisure venues are already undergoing preparations and upgrades aimed at improving services and enhancing the visitor experience.

Infrastructure and accessibility projects

It said it is continuing with projects and interventions to improve infrastructure, upgrade public spaces and make beaches, recreation areas and tourist zones more accessible to residents and visitors.

Blue Flag beaches and Fig Tree Bay recognition

The municipality said Paralimni-Deryneia has 18 Blue Flag beaches, the highest number of any municipality in Cyprus. It also cited the international recognition of Fig Tree Bay in Protaras, saying it is the only beach in Cyprus included among the 19 best beaches in Europe.

Mayor’s comments and cooperation with tourism sector

Mayor Giorgos Nikolettos said the municipality is working systematically to ensure each tourist season finds the area further upgraded, with modern infrastructure, quality services and a natural environment that remains a benchmark for Cypriot and international tourism. He added that close cooperation between the municipality and the area’s tourism and business community is helping to maintain the standard of the local tourism product and strengthen the destination’s reputation.
