Nicosia, Cyprus. Police arrested a 35-year-old woman wanted in connection with ongoing burglary and theft investigations and also detained the owner of the apartment where she was found, authorities said on Monday.
Arrests and outstanding warrant
Police said officers located the woman at an apartment in Nicosia during enquiries linked to the cases and arrested her on an outstanding warrant. The 35-year-old owner of the apartment was also arrested on suspicion of aiding an offender.
Suspected drugs and items found during search
Police said the woman was found in possession of two small bags containing a crystalline substance believed to be amphetamine and a small amount of dried cannabis. A search of the apartment uncovered a firearm, the origin of which is under investigation, a shotgun, and several electric scooters and bicycles.
Custody and court appearance
Police said the occupants failed to give satisfactory explanations for the items. Both suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear before the Nicosia district court on Monday for a remand order.
