Yermasoyia, Cyprus. Police are investigating a shooting at a commercial building on Prophet Elias Street after at least 13 shots were fired at the premises early on Saturday. Damage was discovered on Monday morning by a cleaner arriving at the building.
Investigation underway
The building, which houses several companies, sustained bullet damage to its entrance door and an internal wall.
Police attended the scene after the incident was reported and began examinations to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
CCTV footage and resident reports
Police said the shooting occurred at around 4am on Saturday and that two individuals were recorded on the office building’s CCTV footage.
Alpha News reported that residents in the area had reported hearing shots on Saturday morning.
Evidence collection
Police described the circumstances as “mysterious”, noting that many offices in the area would have been closed over the weekend.
The scene has been secured while investigators gather evidence and examine the building for further indications regarding the shooting.
