Nicosia, Cyprus. Police on Wednesday urged drivers to exercise caution as heavy rainfall in parts of Limassol and Paphos is affecting traffic, while snow has made mountain roads hazardous.
Rainfall affecting roads in Limassol and Paphos
Police said water accumulation has been observed along sections of the Limassol–Paphos highway, particularly near Limassol, Pissouri and Kouklia, as well as on the Limassol bypass.
Snowfall and fog in Troodos
In the Troodos mountains, police reported snowfall, with roads described as slippery and visibility limited by fog.
Access restrictions on mountainous routes
Police said roads in higher mountainous areas, including from Troodos square to the Troodos peak and the Prodromos–Troodos road, are open only to vehicles with four-wheel drive or those fitted with snow chains.
Advice to drivers
Police advised drivers to proceed with caution, reduce speed, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and keep headlights on at all times.
Will you adjust your route or driving plans to account for the hazardous conditions?
