London, United Kingdom. The Rolling Stones have secured their 15th number one on the UK Official Albums Chart with “Foreign Tongues”, drawing level with The Beatles’ tally.
The band’s 25th studio album was released on July 10 and includes contributions from Paul McCartney, The Cure’s Robert Smith and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.
Guest appearances
“Foreign Tongues” also includes a special appearance by the band’s late drummer Charlie Watts, recorded during one of his final sessions before his death in 2021.
The Rolling Stones previously reached number one on the UK Official Albums Chart with their 2023 album “Hackney Diamonds”, which won the Grammy Award for best rock album.
Tour hopes
At the album’s launch party in London last week, Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood said they hoped to tour in support of “Foreign Tongues”.
“Ronnie and I are really into that, so we hope to see everyone on the road,” Jagger, 82, told Reuters.
