Larnaca, Cyprus. Water cuts continued on Tuesday in selected areas of Larnaca due to ongoing operational problems affecting desalination units, local authorities said.
Desalination issues limit supply
In a statement, the Larnaca district government (EOA) said limited water supply from government systems persists as a result of operational issues at desalination plants.
Rotational cuts in selected areas
EOA said it is proceeding with rotational water supply cuts in selected areas until further notice as part of efforts to better manage the situation.
Call for conservation
Consumers were urged to use water sparingly so needs can be met through quantities stored in private water tanks at their properties. Authorities reiterated the need for conservation measures and for the public to avoid unnecessary or excessive water use.
Apology to residents
EOA apologised for the inconvenience and thanked the public for its understanding and cooperation.
