Nikokleia, Cyprus. A runaway ostrich was spotted wandering the streets of Nikokleia in Paphos on Saturday, raising concerns for its safety amid passing traffic.
Sighting and safety concerns
A woman driving in the area at around 10am saw the bird moving up the street, turning around, and heading back down. She said the ostrich appeared confused and that she was concerned it could be hit by a car as vehicles approached from both directions. She added that nobody stopped to help.
Report to kiosk owner
The woman pulled over at a local kiosk where ostriches, horses, and sheep are allegedly kept, and urged the owner to alert police about the loose animal.
