Paphos, Cyprus. Sense by the Sea has marked its first anniversary at Potima Bay, on the site of a former popular beach bar. The venue combines a shaded restaurant area above the beach with sunbeds, beach service and a broad food menu.
Beach facilities and service
The newly built venue overlooks Potima Bay, with waves breaking below the restaurant terrace. Most tables are in shaded areas, while canopies, beach beds and umbrellas are available on the beach for €10 per day.
Sense provides a beach concierge service, delivering food and drinks to sunbeds and offering complimentary chilled fruit sticks. Guests can choose smoking or non-smoking tables, while reservations are advised for sea-front seating.
Food and drink
Brunch is served daily from 9am to midday, with traditional and modern breakfast options, including savoury crêpes. The main menu includes hot and cold starters, salads, platters, sandwiches, meat and fish dishes, pizzas and pastas.
A separate luxury sushi menu is also available. The menu includes a beef carpaccio served with thin slices of beef, truffle oil and Parmesan cheese.
Main courses and dessert
Main-course options include a Double Smash Black Angus Beefburger and a pork doner kebab. The burger comprises two smashed beef patties in a brioche roll with melted cheese and truffle oil sauce.
The pork doner kebab is served with charred pork, traditional pitta bread and tzatziki. Both dishes are accompanied by salad and French fries.
Desserts include a Chocolate and Strawberry Crêpe containing Nutella, biscuits, fresh strawberries, almond flakes, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. Customers can also create their own crêpes from a selection of ingredients.
Setting
The restaurant’s coastal setting provides views across Potima Bay, particularly at sunset.
