Nicosia, Cyprus. Police said seven people were arrested on Tuesday night for various offences including illegal possession of a firearm, illegal residency in Cyprus and impersonation. The arrests were announced on Wednesday.
Checks and complaints
Police said they stopped and checked 294 drivers and passengers and inspected 18 premises. The operation resulted in three complaints related to delinquency.
Traffic enforcement
Traffic checks led to 125 citations, including 49 for speeding. Four vehicles were seized, and five traffic violation cases remain under investigation.
Ongoing operations
Police said they maintained a strong presence across Cyprus with organised urban patrols aimed at improving public safety. Preventive operations increased visibility, and police said targeted checks and quick responses will continue as part of ongoing efforts to stop crime.
