Nicosia, Cyprus. Seven foreign nationals were arrested on Wednesday in Nicosia during an immigration raid conducted by police. Authorities said the individuals were found to have been staying in Cyprus illegally.
Operation details
The operation was carried out by officers from the aliens and immigration service (YAM) between 6am and noon. Police said 35 people were checked during the raid.
Arrests and procedures
According to police, seven people were identified as staying in Cyprus illegally. The suspects were arrested and taken into custody, and repatriation procedures have already begun for all seven individuals.
