Special electoral rolls published for Maronite, Armenian and Latin communities ahead of May 24 vote

Nicosia, Cyprus. The interior ministry said special electoral rolls for Maronite, Armenian and Latin communities have been published ahead of the May 24 parliamentary elections. The rolls will be displayed for public inspection for ten days from March 16 to March 26.

Public inspection period and corrections

The ministry said the supplementary rolls list voters eligible to elect their representatives to the House and will be available at district administration offices and the elections service offices.

In a press release, the ministry called on voters in these religious groups to check whether their names are included and to submit any corrections or additions in a timely manner. It urged those who need to update their details to do so to ensure they can exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections.

Final roll compilation and eligibility

After the supplementary roll process is completed, the final electoral lists will be compiled on April 2, the ministry said.

The final roll will include new voters who reach the age of 18 by election day, provided they submit the relevant application by April 2. The ministry said the final roll is intended to ensure that every eligible member of the Maronite, Armenian and Latin communities can participate in the elections.

Observer status for elected representatives

The three representatives elected will hold observer status in parliament, according to constitutional law.
