The vehicle was received at the municipal hall and was supplied by A.G. Autoguru Ltd, following a specification process designed to match the daily demands of the service. Municipal officials said the addition is expected to improve response times and effectiveness across Strovolos.

Planned uses

Officials said the vehicle has been custom built to support a range of tasks, including capturing stray dogs, collecting dead animals, removing hazardous objects from roads, and rapid deployment during severe weather events.

Equipment and operational impact

The municipality described the van as a modern vehicle adapted to the emergency response service’s needs. It is equipped with a rear ramp, animal cages, dedicated storage compartments and other fittings. Officials said the features enable teams to carry out multiple tasks without needing additional vehicles or equipment.

Role of the service

The municipality said the emergency response service addresses incidents affecting public health, road safety and environmental hygiene, and is often the first municipal unit on the scene.
